Task 3: 'Disconnected' Brief
For the music video 'Disconnected' by Jazz Morely the first shot would be Jazz walking round her old house, this would be a tracking shot. There will be flashbacks as she is walking round the house of Jazz and her brother when they were children, the shots will fade into the flashbacks. The flashbacks happen as the song gets to the line 'You're becoming a stranger'. When the song gets to the line 'I know you're a man now', another fade will happen because now it goes to a mid-shot of her brother walking to a boat to go to Afghanistan, as he is walking away the shot will slightly zoom out to give the effect that he is leaving his sister, Jazz. The shot will then go back to Jazz at her childhood house singing about and to her brother, this shot will be a close-up at first to show the emotion, then zooming out slowly as the shot will cut to her brother fighting in Afghanistan, this will be in slow motion. The end of the song will be Jazz's brother coming back home, she will be waiting there to see him, which will be a mid-shot. Her brother walks off the boat, this shot will be a mid-shot and zooming out. The next shot will be a side view of them both, being so happy to see each other and Jazz also being happy because her brother is home safe. They both hug and there will be a close-up of her crying whilst hugging him.

Task 2: Visualisation
For this track 'Disconnected' the music video I would create for it would be that for the intro of the song, Jazz would be at her old house where she grew up with her brother. But as she is walking around the house there would be flashbacks of her and her brother when they were younger playing. Then when the song is at the line 'You're becoming a stranger' the flashback will start to fade. As the song gets to the line 'I know you're a man now' the camera will fade to her brother now as he's about to go to Afghanistan. It will then go from Jazz singing, still in the house to her brother in Afghanistan because she is singing about/to him. The end of the song will be her brother coming back and Jazz and her brother being so happy to see each other.

Assignment 2: Task 1 Initial Listen
Jazz Morely - Disconnected
What sort of mood and tone is conveyed?
The song is filled with emotion, it is conveyed in a way that is sad, but in a good way that it effects the audience. You can tell she's written the song about something that means a lot to her. The rhythm of the song and the piano sets the mood.
Does it sound similar to anything else you have heard?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DChHEf0lpEE
The link above goes to the song 'Wherever You Will Go' covered by Charlene Soraia. This is similar to 'Disconnected' in the sense that its a slow song with the same sort of effect on the audience, it is filled with emotion and the vocals are soft just like 'Disconnected'.
What genre would you describe the track as?
I would say the genre of the track would be more along the lines of soul because it is such a slow and emotional sound.

Family Guy Presentation Evaluation
In our group was, Me, Kerri, Amica and Abii we started our presentation by watching our chosen clip many times in depth to analyse each sound we could hear. We also researched the 'Family Guy' sound background, such as the 'Family Guy' orchestra. As a group we watched the clip and separated the Diegetic and the non-diegetic sounds. We found that the sounds in 'Family Guy' are mostly diegetic sounds. We also looked at the ambient sounds in family guy, such as the till in the first part of the clip. Our strengths for this presentation were that we had all researched 'Family Guy' and we had also presented the powerpoint in a way that we tried to not put too much text on each slide. Our weaknesses for this presentation were that even though we tried to put as little text on the slides as possible we still found that we read from the slides a lot. Also Abii was absent from that lesson but fortunately that didn't effect our group with our presentation because Abii had still put her input into the powerpoint. Over all our presentation went well, my target for our next presentation is to have notes instead of reading off the powerpoint, but our information and group work all went to plan and turned out well.

Assignment 1: TV and Film analysis
In my group are Abii Budd, Amica Schiller and Kerri Knight.
We have picked a scene from 'Family Guy' where Peter Griffin and a chicken are fighting. We picked this clip because we found it had a lot of varieties of sound and we can explain in detail about them all.

Sherlock Holmes Introduction
In the opening sequence of Sherlock Holmes the music played is a piano style music and then the sound of the horse and carriage comes into shot. Then as the horse and carriage fades the background music gets fast and then the previous piano music adds in. When Sherlock enters the building the music then fades and turns to quiet music. The music then becomes faster and louder as a fighting scene commences.
The next scene is with the girl and Lord Blackwood and the music carries on quietly but deep drum sounds start playing. Then Sherlock and Watson are about to enter the room but cautiously, as they come across someone guarding the room the music goes quiet as they are forced to kill him to not be seen. The music goes silent because it adds to the point that they are trying to be quiet to not be seen by Lord Blackwood.
Sherlock and Watson run into the scene to save the girl and the music gets faster and louder, but when fighting, the music goes quiet again so you can hear the sound effects of the weapons as they are fighting. Then the music goes back to loud again.
When they confront Lord Blackwood the music becomes slow and changes to a dark and deep style of music which sounds like cello's playing. The music then goes to a higher pitched style music and gets louder as the previous piano music from the start starts playing over it.
